Welcome to Gujarati Samaj Tampa Bay, Inc’s Web site, a Florida not-for-profit corporation.  The following describes how we handle information we may learn about you when you visit our Web sites. Children under the age of 13 should not use this site without the supervision of a parent or guardian. As  used  in  this  Privacy  Policy,  the  words  “you”  and  “your”  refer  to  any  person  accessing  any of the Gujarati Samaj Tampa Bay’s Web sites.  The words “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Gujarati Samaj Tampa Bay.

Information We Collect When You Visit Our Web site.

The information  you  may  provide  in  visiting  our Web  site falls  into  two  broad  categories:  Personally Identifiable   Information,   and   Aggregate   Information.      “Personally   Identifiable   Information”   is information  that  can  be  used  to  identify  or  contact  you,  such  as  your  name,  e-mail  address, telephone number or  mailing address; and “Aggregate  Information” is information that does not identify you, and may  include,  for  example,  statistical  information  concerning  the pages  on  our Web  site that  users  most frequent.  Our Privacy Policy governs both categories of information.

Personally Identifiable Information We Collect Concerning All Users.

We collect Personally Identifiable Information when you submit questions or comments to us, request information or materials about our organization, participate in our online surveys, promotions or contests, or submit applications for employment or for other purposes through our Web site.

Personally Identifiable Information We Collect Concerning Children Under The Age of 13.

From time to time, we may collect Personally Identifiable Information concerning children under the age of 13  in  order  to register them  for  the  event(s), or  offer  other  online  activities.    Our requests are  for limited Personally Identifiable Information (e.g., name, address, the child’s e-mail address and/or e-mail address of parent or third party guardian, etc.).  We do not condition a child's participation in any of our activities on the disclosure of more information than  is  reasonably necessary to participate in the activity. At  any  time  after  receiving  the  registration confirmation notification  e-mail,  the  child's  parent  has  the opportunity  to  exercise  the  option  to  request  that  we  stop  sending  the  child  information and  have  the child's  information removed from our database by  mailing  a certified letter to  the  committee. In  addition, parents  may  at  any  time  review  any Personally  Identifiable  Information collected  about  their  child  (the section below entitled “Parental Access”). If  you  visit  our Web  site to  browse  or  to  read  or  download  information,  we  may  collect  and  store:  the name  of  the  domain  name  and  host  from  which  you  access  the  Internet  (for  example,;  the Internet  Protocol  (IP)  address  of  the  computer  you  are  using;  the  browser  software  you  use  and  your operating  system;  the  date  and  time  you  access  our  site,  and  other  activity  on  our  site;  and  the  Internet address of the Web site from which you linked to our site. We do not link an IP address to Personally Identifiable Information, meaning that a user’s session will be logged but the user remains anonymous to us.  If we do decide to link any Aggregate Information, or your IP address to  your  Personally  Identifiable  Information,  we  will  treat  the  resulting  information  as “Personally Identifiable Information” for all purposes under our Privacy Policy contained herein.

Use Of “Cookies”

We Limit Our Use of Information

We use Personally Identifiable Information that you provide to us when you visit our site strictly for the purposes for which you have provided it.  For  example, if you request to receive our letters  and notices of events, and you provide us with contact information (which may include Personally Identifiable Information, such as an e-mail  address,  mailing  address,  or  phone  number),  we  will  use  that  information to  contact  you  regarding your  request  or  to  send  you  the  information.    If,  at  any  time,  you  decide  you  no  longer  wish  to  receive such information, simply  notify  us  to that  effect (for contact information,  see the section  below  entitled “How To Contact Us”).

We  use the  Aggregate  Information  that  we  collect for  system  administration,  to measure  the  number  of visitors  to  our  site,  to  improve  site  performance,  to  help  us  make  our  site  more  useful  and/or  to  gather broad Aggregate Information.

Each  of  our  employees/volunteers  abides  by  our  Privacy  Policy,  and  only  authorized  employees  have access to your Personally Identifiable Information. We have in place security control systems designed to prevent unauthorized disclosure of your Personally Identifiable Information.  DUE TO THE NATURE OF  THE  INTERNET  AND  DEVELOPING  TECHNOLOGIES,  WE  CANNOT,  HOWEVER, PROVIDE  ASSURANCES  AS  TO  THE  SECURITY  OF  YOUR  INFORMATION,  AND Gujarati Samaj Tampa Bay EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY SUCH OBLIGATIONS.

Correcting Information; Opting Out

If  at  any  time  you  would  like  us  to  update  or  correct  Personally  Identifiable  Information  you  have previously  provided  to  us,  feel  free  to  contact  us  using  the  contact  information  provided  below  in  the “How To Contact Us” section, and we will update or correct your Personally Identifiable Information to the extent your request does not compromise and is consistent with our privacy policies.  In  addition,  if  you  request,  we  will  use  commercially  reasonable  efforts  to  remove  your  name  and Personally Identifiable Information from any database(s) we may maintain.  Please understand, however, that it may be impossible to remove this information completely, due to backups and records of deletions.  If  you  wish to remove  your name  from any database(s) we  may  maintain, please  notify us  in writing to this effect by using the contact information provided below in the “How To Contact Us” section.

Parental Access

Whenever we conduct  an  online  activity  and have actual  knowledge  that  we  have  received  Personally Identifiable Information concerning a child under 13, our goal is to help parents ensure that their child’s privacy  is  protected. To  that  end,  we  provide  parents  with a  request  form that allows it  to  review  the Personally  Identifiable  Information we  received about  their  child,  have  this  information  deleted,  and/or request  that  there  be  no  further  collection  or  use  of  their  child's  information. The  request  form  will  be readily available to  parents  as  part  of  each online  activity for  which we  have actual  knowledge  that  we have  received  Personally  Identifiable  Information  concerning  children  under  13. Parents can  print  out and  mail or fax us  a signed form for these  purposes. We will take steps to verify the  identity of anyone requesting  information  about  a  child  and  to  ensure  that  the  person  is  in  fact  the  child's  parent  or  legal guardian.
